As the university reopens for Fall 2021, the Writing Center will offer the weekly write-in for graduate students in a hybrid format — writers will have the option of attending in-person or via Zoom.
The Writing Center sponsors weekly write-in mornings for Mason graduate students during the fall and spring terms on Fridays from 9:30 - 1:00. Writers bring their coffee, a set of goals, and a commitment to join the group on time and remain for the entire session. We begin with a short conversation about goals and end with a short wrap-up on accomplishments. The remaining time is dedicated to writing. The Graduate Writing Coordinator is present to coordinate the session and to take consultations.
If you're looking for group accountability and time to write with other Mason graduate students who are also serious about making progress on their writing goals, sign up for any number of sessions between one and twelve. You may schedule just one or two sessions to get started on a course project, or attend all twenty-four to give yourself regular, structured time to work on a thesis, dissertation, or other writing project.
