All appointments are made through our online scheduling system. Need to cancel? You may do so up to 20 minutes prior to your session’s start time by going to the online scheduler. Simply select your appointment and click the “Cancel appointment” box at the bottom of the reservation form and then “save appointment.” Canceling is better than a “no show.” After two no shows, you won’t be able to make any more appointments for the semester.
Tutoring for Alumni and Faculty/Staff
GMU graduates, staff, or faculty may make up to two appointments per week to see a tutor. Proof of graduation is required before an appointment can be made. Please call 703-993-1200 or stop by Robinson Hall A114 to set up an account. All other Writing Center policies apply.
Our Roadshows are short, 15-minute presentations about the Writing Center’s services. Faculty and staff wishing to schedule a Writing Center roadshow for their class or department meeting may email their requests to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Website Comments or Concerns
Our website recently moved to a new platform, and many portions are still under construction. If you discover a broken link or encounter an error message, please email us at email@example.com.
We only employ graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in courses at GMU. Graduate tutors are teaching assistants provided by the English department’s MFA and MA programs. Undergraduate peer tutors are recruited and selected in the Fall semester to participate in a semseter-long course in the Spring. Starting in Spring 2012, undergraduate peer tutors began tutoring year-round. If you are interested in tutoring, please email our director Dr. Dawn Fels at firstname.lastname@example.org.
