Emily is a first-year MFA candidate in Poetry. Before coming to Mason she worked as a book scout in New York. She describes book scouting as, "like girl-scouting, but without merit badges or cookies," which she freely admits are the only good parts about scouting to begin with. She holds a BA from Cornell University, where she majored in English, Classics, and Religious Studies. Her favorite Roman Emperor is Hadrian.
