Afra
Peer Tutor
Afra Saeed is graduating in May 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Islamic Studies. Currently, Afra is working with Dr. Eden King on her honors thesis and undergraduate apprenticeship project which examines discrimination toward female Muslims in job applications. She enjoys being a peer tutor in the writing center and looks forward to becoming a writing fellow in the spring. While she is not at school, Afra works as a substitute teacher, a Spanish tutor, and a relationship banker at BB&T. Being a Pakistani American, she speaks Urdu and Punjabi fluently and has learned Spanish over the course of six years. After graduation, Afra hopes to pursue a PhD in counseling psychology to work with families of diverse backgrounds.
